Summary -In the future, space is going to war. Adults have decided to screen and send certain children, mostly young boys, to space to train. The children go to Battle School to become ready for war. Andrew “Ender” Wiggin, at the age of six, is sent to Battle School with expectations from his teachers and higher ranking acquaintances. Ender struggles to keep his relationships healthy, but has troubles with some other boys who feel threatened. Ender is being pushed and challenged by his teachers, mainly Mazer Rackham, the boy who won the last invasion by luck. A now older Mazer Rackham is teaching Ender techniques and tricks to help Ender win the war by skill, not luck. As Ender is going through a practice simulation, the hardest practice Ender’s army has had, he calls a technique that they have never done before and that is a little difficult. They beat their enemy, but sacrificed a few ships. As teachers celebrate for the win more than usual, Ender discovers that the simulations all along have been real. Ender Wiggin had finally defeated their enemy. All around him, people are happy and celebrating, but Ender is guilty for all the soldiers that were really on the ships out in space on the simulation. A few years after the final invasion, Ender searches the planet their enemies lived on. He finds an egg, a queen egg, which he must find a planet for the egg’s people to live on. Ender’s new goal was to find that planet.
